Maple Pecan Pie

2 T butter

½ C sugar

2 eggs

2 T flour

¼ tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

1 ¼ C maple syrup

1 C pecans

¼ tsp. vinegar

unbaked 8” pie shell

 

Cream the butter and sugar, add unbeaten eggs and stir. Add flour, salt, vanilla, syrup and vinegar. Beat well. Add nuts. Place in 350º oven and bake about 1 hour or until when shaken it is solid.

 

 

Quick Maple Twists

1 can refrigerator biscuits

2 T melted butter

½ C finely chopped nuts

2 T maple sugar

 

Pull each biscuit to about 6” in length. Dip in melted butter, then in a mixture of nuts and maple sugar. Twist. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450º for 8 min.

 

 

Maple Banana Dessert

1/3 C milk

1/3 C maple syrup

Heat above to boiling, then add:

½ lb. marshmallows

 

Stir until melted and let cool, then add a sliced banana. Stir in 1 cup chopped nuts. Fold in 2 cups Cool Whip and refrigerate several hours.

 

 

Quick Sticky Rolls

3 T maple syrup

1 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls

chopped nuts

 

Pour syrup in cake pan, top with chopped nuts and rolls, cut into 8 pieces. Bake at 350º for 20 min. or until golden brown.

 

 

Maple Whipped Cream

In small bowl, beat ½ pt. whipping cream and ¼ cup maple syrup until stiff. Serve with apple, pumpkin pie, or spice cake.

 

 

Maple Cheese Dessert

3 apples, pared and thinly sliced

2 C flour, sifted

1 T baking powder

½ tsp. salt

1 ½ C maple syrup (grade B)

¾ C mild cheddar cheese (can use Colby cheese)

1 ½ C milk

 

Preheat oven to 425º. Core, pare & thinly sliced apples. Arrange in an even layer in a buttered 13”x9” pan. Pour the maple syrup over the apples. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add cheese. Add milk and stir until just mixed. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto apples. Bake for 30 min. Serve warm and with sweetened whipped cream flavored with maple syrup.

 

 

Hot Maple Peaches

2-3 sliced peaches

1 T. butter

½ C. maple syrup

2 tsp. lemon juice

 

Preheat oven to 375º. Place peaches in oiled baking dish. Combine other ingredients and pour over peaches. Cover and bake for 15 min. Uncover and bake for 15 min. longer basting occasionally. Serve warm over plain cake.

 

 

Maple Apple Crisp

6 C sliced apples

½ C maple syrup

1/3 C flour

2/3 C quick oats

½ C brown sugar

¼ tsp. salt

1/3 C butter

 

Arrange apples in greased baking dish. Pour syrup over apples. Mix dry ingredients and cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 350º until apples are tender and crust is brown. (about 30 min.)

 

 

Maple Cheesecake

8 oz. cream cheese softened

8 oz. whipped topping

½ C maple sugar

1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust

 

Mix all ingredients together and pour into pie crust. Let chill overnight. Sprinkle top with maple sugar before serving.

 

 

Maple Soft Drink (Soda Pop)

Maple Soda Pop is a great tasting drink that tastes a lot like a maple flavored cream soda. Maple soft drinks are a healthy alternative to other soft drinks. There’s no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial coloring, flavors or preservatives. You simply mix maple sugar into carbonated water.

 

Add 5 ounces (10 tablespoons) of maple sugar to one liter of carbonated water. You can adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple sugar.

 

To avoid making a mess, do not pour maple sugar into a container with a narrow top or neck. ALWAYS add the sugar to the carbonated water. This will prevent the eruption of liquid and foam.
